Andy Warhol Campbell's Soup Can outside University Museum

One of the great benefits of living in a college town is the abundance of art and entertainment that are available to the general public. The University Art Museum is one of those places. It’s a perfect place to satisfy that artistic craving that pops up every once and a while. I know, for some more often than others. Did I mention that it’s free?

The University Art Museum is located in the old Fort Collins High School on Remington. You’ll know you’re there when you see the giant Andy Warhol can of Campbell’s Soup. If you go in the summer, you have to walk across the street and check out the flower gardens as well.

The museum’s main features are collections of fine art and ethnographic artifacts. (that’s code for art from other cultures) There are also exhibitions that come and go more frequently, so check out the Museum website to see what’s currently being displayed. I’m personally interested in the Soviet era photography collection.

The museum is open to the public from 11am to 7pm, Tues. thru Sat.

It is located near the corner of Remington and Pitkin. See map.
