40. CSU Undie Run

Students congregate for CSU Undie Run

Within minutes of 11pm, hundreds of students began congregating outside the Lory Student Center like a flash flood overwhelming a dry desert. All arriving fully clad, unrecognizable from any other student you’d see on the street. This student mobĀ  rapidly grew bigger, the chants of “I’m proud to be a CSU Ram” got louder, and the tension grew as everyone waited for the festivities to begin. Then like a damn bursting its banks, clothes began to fly through the air and a form of civilized mayhem ensued. All in the name of charity.

For the third year in a row on the Friday before finals week, hundreds of CSU students literally went without, so that others less fortunate could go with a little more. This year, all donated clothing was given to victims of the recent earthquakes in Chile and Haiti.

Just as quickly as the masses had arrived, they were gone to run a mile loop around part of campus. Piles of clothes littered the ground everywhere as the only evidence that anything abnormal had just happened.

I was struck by the benevolent debauchery I witnessed. I didn’t see any vandalism occur and the most excessive exposure I saw came from some extremely skimpy banana hammocks.(A sight I look forward to quickly forgetting)

If you’re a CSU student, I’m sure there are other ways to be charitable that won’t require the shirt off your back. They just might not be quite so much fun…

Excellent use of descriptors. “Benevolent debauchery” and “banana hammocks”. I will continue to read this blog if I can expect continued excellence in word choice.

A friend of ours is an ER Doc at Poudre Valley Hospital. He said they had a sweet coed show up in undies who had been trampled during the festivities. I think she was ok, just scraped up. Amazing they only had one injury!!

Hey there! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog
platform are you using for this site? I’m getting tired of WordPress because I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m looking at options for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
