34. Have a Coney Island Hot Dog in Old Town Square

PJ, owner of PJ’s Curbside Grill, grew up in the Bronx around the finest hot dogs stands on the planet. When it was time for a major life change, he and his wife Auriel decided to bring those big city style dogs out here to the choice city! Thank goodness he did. Next time you’re in Old Town looking for a quick and cheap lunch, walk into Old Town Sqaure and look for the black and red umbrella. PJ’s menu features Coney Island style all Beef Nathan’s Hot Dogs. They also serve fresh Brats and Italian Sausage from Caninos with no preservatives or nitrates, an incredible Philly Cheese Steak, Nachos, and Chicken Sausage stuffed with mozzarella and roasted garlic. And of course no true coney island hot dog stand is complete without a myriad of fine condiments to dress up your dog just right. Trust me this food is the real deal, always fresh, nothing re-heated from the day before. What PJ doesn’t sell each day he passes out to the homeless in the square. PJ’s was closed today due to the furious winds, but with over 300 days of sunshine (that’s more than San Diego), you’re sure to find this wonderful stand open most days during the warmer months (except Sunday). They keep the website and facebook updated so check it out when you’re making a special trip to get a taste of the big apple right here in the Fort!

Take it from a former Bronx girl – PJ is the real deal. The food is wonderful. Really hits that gastronomic home-sickness spot. For a little bit of authentic NY – just go!

ACtually you only need 313 other great things to do in Fort Collins because everyone should get to PJ’s at least once a week and there are 52 weeks in a year! :-D

The dogs, brats and cheese steaks are great. Where else can you get fantastic food and a pleasant conversation while enjoying the sunshine and atmosphere found in Old Town? Got to try PJ’s. I’m there every chance I get.
